FIRE PROTECTION

The Rural Municipality of Kelsey’s fire protection is contracted out through the Town of The Pas Fire Department.

POLICING

The Rural Municipality of Kelsey has police protection through the R.C.M.P. in the Town of The Pas. As well, the R.M.’s many residents have come together to organize a Neighbourhood Watch program throughout the R.M. area.

AMBULANCE SERVICE

Ambulance Service is also provided through the Town of The Pas.

HIGHWAY COMMERCIAL

The Rural Municipality of Kelsey has a number of undeveloped lots for commercial development. These lots are located at Highway 10 North of the Town of The Pas and Opaskwayak Cree Nation. These lots are serviced by a frontage road and drainage. Some of the lots have already been purchased and developed by local businesses including a meat processing plant, the recycling centre, and a pet kennel, just to name a few. The RM of Kelsey also has an Industrial Park, located adjacent to Highway 10 South of the Town of The Pas. Businesses developed there consist of a railway, and small engine repair shop, just to name a few.

LAND

The Rural Municipality of Kelsey offers you plenty of land to experience true country living. Whether you’re looking for rural residential living in the Ralls Island area, excellent farmland of Carrot River Valley or the true wilderness of Cranberry Portage and Wanless, there is an abundance of land available to build your dreams.

RECYCLING

The Rural Municipality of Kelsey has a joint recycling program with the Town of The Pas and Opaskwayak Cree Nation. After a short period of closure due to staffing and funding, the Recycling Centre is back up and running. USED OIL DEPOT

The Rural Municipality of Kelsey also co-hosts the Used Oil Recycling Centre with the Town of The Pas and Opaskwayak Cree Nation. The used oil depot is situated at the Town of The Pas Landfill site.

AIRPORT SERVICES

The Grace Lake Airport is under the jurisdiction of the Rural Municipality. Many private hangers are located at this airport along with Missinippi Air Service, airplane repair shop and life flight services. Chartered flights are also available to serve the public. The R.M. of Kelsey residents also have access to The Pas Airport, which is, located approximately 25 km north, in Clearwater Lake Provincial Park. This airport has daily departures to Winnipeg by Calm Air Airlines
